Red Wigglers: Setting the Stage for Science Inquiry
This lesson uses vermicomposting to apply virtually all of the science & engineering practices as well as several in math. Enough for a unit but a few stand alone pieces can help your students get to know some very important decomposers.

This lesson takes place in a classroom over two weeks. Students may work in small groups of 2-3. Prior to the robotics challenge, teachers should facilitate student discussion through guided lessons
