Straw Rockets Day 1
Students will expand their knowledge of Newton's laws while building, launching and changing the design of paper rockets. This design and modeling exercise by JPL/NASA starts students off with a simple design and data collection question. Build, launch, and record. Students experience different iterations of the rockets from nose cones, fuselage length, mass, diameter, and fin shapes and sizes. There are articles linked into the presentation and notes to support the lesson through ELA. This is 1 of 2 lessons for this project.
