Simple Machine- Part 3- Creating a Ferris Wheel
This is part 3 of a unit. Links to the first 2 lessons are included. This lesson focuses on building the base for the Ferris wheel. Students are encouraged to design and create a base that is wide enough to hold their wheel and tall enough to keep their wheel aloft. They will need to create a base that is flat and strong enough to hold their wheel while it spins.

This lesson uses a diagram of a football being punted to demonstrate the forces of motion and the transfer of energy. Students are then challenged to apply what they learned to engineer a mechanical
Students will investigate the properties of different types of matter and apply the concept of "P1: Matter" to design, model, and 3D print an object using a MakerBot 3D printer. Hands-On STEM Design
Students will research, design and build a treehouse using the engineering design process. They will practice budgeting by pretending to have $100 to spend by using a supply budget sheet. Students
