Rainwater Harvesting: Calculating the Water Budget

This is the second lesson in a series of 2. In this lesson, students will learn about what watersheds are and then take a tour of the school campus looking at it through the lens of being a watershed. Students will then determine the square footage of the area in which water will be collected on campus and determine the school garden water budget and practice choosing plants that will not exceed the water budget. Students present their results and critique one another's procedures to determine if water budget is accurate or procedures should be revised.
