Possible Problems in the Garden: Proposed Solutions
This is a series of lessons where students will observe natural activities in the garden for five days. From the observation, they will identify the factors that have high probability of causing problems that may affect the growth of plants in the garden. Students will work in a group, collect data, write narrative based on the collected data, write a simple project proposal stating the solution and build a model of the solution they proposed. As they work together, students will practice skills in writing a report and proposal, measure materials for the model and interpersonal communication.

Engineers often create small-size models of a new product to test its design. This is especially true with airplanes. Model testing tells engineers how a design responds to different air conditions
