Natural Water Filters
by Erin Carter
In this lesson, students will explore how gravity and the layers of the Earth's crust work together to filter contaminated water. Students will build a water filter and test the water filter with muddy, murky water. Students will learn that the process is slow both with their own water filters and naturally on Earth. Student's will also see how gravity pushes the water down and the natural materials each play a role in trapping different debris.
