Which Ramp Angle Produces the Fastest Speed?
by Georgina Matzkin
In this lesson students will discover the best angle that will produce the fastest speed for a hot wheel vehicle when traveling 1 meter. Students will also practice calculating speed (speed=distance/time), measuring the height of the books as well as the angle of the ramp to discover which angle produces the fastest speed.
Students will also write a hypothesis statement using “if”, “then” and “because”, determine the independent and dependent variable, as well as creating a scatter plot graph and conclude which angle produces the fastest speed.

Students will apply principles of design, engineering, and mathematics to create a physical or digital labyrinth inspired by the myth of Theseus. This project integrates STEM concepts with literature
Grades:
Kindergarten
Kindergarten students will be given a STEM case to solve! The goal is to build a bridge for two different sized/weight of vehicles. Students will research types of bridges and decide which bridge will

Students calculate their own physical power output by walking, and then hustling/running, up a flight of stairs. The change in potential energy (changing height) is the work they do (fighting gravity)
