What do sunflowers need to grow? PART 1
by Tawny Bounds
This is the 1st lesson in a unit series of 4 covering plant growth. Students will brainstorm ideas about what plants need to grow. The teacher will read a book about plant growth. Then, the whole class will discuss and create a chart about plant growth. The following 3 lessons in this series contain planting seeds, observing growth, documenting observations, and creating a growth over time graph. There is helpful "Sunflower Diary" document included to capture student learning throughout the unit.
