Solar Updraft Tower
by kelsey kendrick
In this lesson, students will construct a solar updraft tower. They will use heat lamps to warm the air inside the tower, resulting in the propeller spinning. This lesson helps students gain a better understanding of how energy transfers from the sun to the air, causing the molecules to warm up and become less dense.
