Solar Heater with Soda Cans
This plan was created by me and used in my afterschool STEM club in January. It tests building a soda can heater.
The plan begins with the story, Snowy Day, and brings into focus the need for heat and begins a discussion about how the character Peter could use solar heat to stay warm.
The students will work in groups, decide on their insulating features, build a solar can heater, and test it.
It includes a building plan, material list, and lab report to direct other teachers on how to explore passive solar heat with their students.
