Ripples of Change: Investigating Elements Impacting Sea Level Rise and Mitigations
Students will use evidence from an investigation to model and explain how thermal expansion of land and sea ice impact the sea level. They will quantify the impact of land ice melt and thermal expansion on sea level using mathematical reasoning to communicate the significance of ice melt percent change and through graphical analysis. Finally, students will design and build a model of a coastal structure that can withstand the impact of rising sea levels due to land ice melt and thermal expansion.

In this lesson, students will design and test solutions to protect their homes during monsoon flooding. They will discuss flooding in Arizona and then research ways to protect their homes. Students
This is the second lesson in a series of 2. In this lesson, students will learn about what watersheds are and then take a tour of the school campus looking at it through the lens of being a watershed
In this engaging and hands-on lesson, students will examine the Gold King Mine spill on the Animas River in Colorado before creating a model watershed in order to develop an explanation of human
