The Physics of Light Obstacle Course

SUMMARY:
This lesson challenges 3rd grade students to apply their knowledge of the physics of light by having them design, create, and test an obstacle course that their beam of light must navigate through to hit the desired target.

SUGGESTED LIST OF MATERIALS:
Flashlight and target
Cardboard base (Approximately 20 x 15 inches)
Index cards
Small magnifying glasses
Toilet paper tubes
Clay
Mirrors
Transparent/translucent/opaque lids
Straws
Prisms
2 transparent cups (one for water)
Inch ruler/yardstick/measuring tape
