Foamy Monster and Magnificent Magnesium: A+B Systems of Chemical Reactions
This lesson give emphasis on the systems A and B of the chemical reaction that represent the reactants and products. This also focuses on investigating not just the system involved in the chemical reaction but also the evidence that supports the chemical reaction equation. The students are expected to construct and revise an explanation for the outcome of a simple chemical reaction based on the outermost electron states of atoms, trends in the periodic table, and knowledge of the patterns of chemical properties. Specifically:
To design and conduct an investigation about chemical reactions.
To identify evidence of chemical reactions in terms of color change, precipitation, gas production, changes in temperature, changes in properties.
To determine what substances are the reactants and what substances are the products in a chemical reaction and write the parts of a chemical reaction.
To illustrate distinct chemical changes due to several chemical reactions.

This lesson is part 2 of 2, Days 3 and 4. This lesson is set up to have students explore the friction bridge designed by Leonardo Da Vinci. Students have discovered the inventor and become familiar
This project sets students up to explore animal anatomy and physiology with the idea of replacing a lost appendage (beak, leg, tail, fin, etc.) This is used in small groups of 2 or 3 over the course
