Finding Friction: Sleds on the Move

1 votes with an average rating of 1.
Students pull wooden "sleds" with different masses on them over various types of surfaces with spring scales (force meters) to calculate the different coefficients of friction. Students graph the data and find the slope. The slopes are the coefficients (ratio of friction force to normal force.)
