Visual Sound: Visualizing Waves with Light and Vibration
by Aaron Whiting
In this STEAM-integrated lesson, students explore how sound travels in waves by building a laser-based oscilloscope using a vibrating surface and mirror. They visually capture sound vibrations by reflecting a laser onto a wall and create visual representations of sound waves. Finally students will analyze the wave patterns.
