Solar Oven Cooking Project
This project takes place over approximately 10 days (2 weeks), 60 minutes per day. Students work in groups to cook in a solar oven, but parts of the project can be done individually as well. Students learn the benefits of using a solar oven, how different types of solar ovens work, and why Phoenix weather is useful for solar oven. They also write a recipe and procedure for cooking in a solar oven, create a technical drawing of a solar oven, and explain the environmental impacts of solar ovens.
