Mi Oh My, My Organelle
by Amber Caulkins
This lesson allows students to work in teams to determine the specific function of an organelle in the cell. Rather than having students try and memorize the function of each organelle, the focus is on how specific organelles contribute to the survival of the cell. Students will create their own lyrics using a template based on the song "Wonderful Life: Mi oh my." Their lyrics will describe the function of the organelle and how it helps the cell survive. For their assessment, students will pick one of three different multi-media presentation options to share their song.
