Greenhouse Gases and Earth's Surface Temperature
by Amy Lewis
This lesson is an introductory lesson to our unit of Human Impact on the Environment. Students will look at Greenhouse Gases and see how they effect the temperature at the Earth's Surface. This is a 5E lesson broken down into sections to fit in a 45 min time period. Lesson 1 (this lesson) provides for the Engage and the Explore. The Engage is a photo with an I see, I think, I wonder. The explore includes a PHET simulation and a guided worksheet for students (and an answer key). Students will explore the effects of Green house gases through waves, photons, and layers.
