This lesson helps engage student voice in developing stronger research questions and projects on topics about which they are interested, curious, and passionate. The Question Formulation Technique (QFT) and the engineering design process are used to show how students can be authentically engaged in created driving questions on any given topic of interest. The world population is projected to reach 8.5 billion in 2030, and to increase further to 9.7 billion in 2050 and 10.4 billion by 2100.
