Elastic Energy Propelled Car
This lesson focuses on developing an understanding of forms of energy and energy transfer/transformation within the system of a rubber band powered car. Students will construct a car using soda bottles and will plan and carry out an investigation. Students will demonstrate understanding through models, data analysis and developing a conclusion. They will use the CER method to provide evidence and reasoning for their answer to the testable question.

After learning about solar, students will create a solar-powered device that can be used by the community. Students work in groups to engineer a device and present the final product to the class.
In this lesson the students will apply the knowledge of thermal energy to design, build and test a container that keeps cold beverages cold.
Engineers often create small-size models of a new product to test its design. This is especially true with airplanes. Model testing tells engineers how a design responds to different air conditions
