Ecosystem Design + Oil Spill Cleanup
by Amy DePuydt
Students are challenged to clean up an oil spill in a river environment. Students create the river environment in a container and add water, plants, sand, and animals. They will spill 1/4 oil into water and using different supplies try to clean-up the oil before it reaches the riverbed. Finally students will discuss how humans can leave a lasting impact on an ecosystem.
