Data Science Inquiry: Me and We
This engaging lesson is the 2nd lesson in a series of 2 focused on data science inquiry. Students use their My Data Portraits from Lesson 1 for data collection, analysis, presentation, reflection and discussion. Students are encouraged to work individually or with a partner to create data rules and a meaningful data visualization to communicate their data story and claims. This creative lesson is an effective way to promote connections and conversations, help students to discover data in unexpected places in their lives, and develop topics for future science or engineering research. Students become more powerful thinkers by making connections with data in relevant and creative ways.
