Coding the Life Cycle of a Butterfly

Students are fascinated by living creatures, including butterflies! Spring in Arizona brings many butterflies, presenting a perfect opportunity for teachers to focus on teaching the life cycle of butterflies while reinforcing simple coding concepts. In this lesson, students will work with a team to accomplish a simple coding task: complete the life cycle of a butterfly. Students will also practice giving precise instructions as they work to develop a program that will direct a classmate across their grid to accurately complete the life cycle of a butterfly.
