Building a Solar Car
This lesson is a 7th-grade STEM lesson with Arizona science standards. Students will be exposed to different forms of energy with sustainability concepts built into the lesson. Encourages students to use renewable sources of energy like solar energy.
Students design a Solar Car using their background knowledge of energy and circuits.
Build solar-powered automobiles with the help of this inspiring STEM lesson for middle schoolers. Students will learn about the principles of renewable energy, create their own vehicles out of low-cost materials, and use solar energy to power them. Students will investigate the concepts of circuits, energy transmission, and problem-solving through practical construction and testing while developing teamwork and critical thinking abilities.

This lesson uses the knowledge of circuits (lessons 1 and 2) to make a battery-powered car. We used a tutorial from Tinkercad and designed our own body of a car. Then, I printed their cars. They
The students design and test a catapult using simple materials like popsicle sticks and rubber bands. They learn about the history of catapults and also about the physical science concepts related to
This lesson has students investigate how forces and motion affect a car fueld by CO2 gas. Students have a design challenge to utilize their science knowledge to create a successful car.
