Area of Garden Bed
Classes will prepare several garden bins for planting. By using a tape measure, students take into consideration the recommended distances of seed planting described on the seed packet and the constraints of the garden bin. This hands-on lesson gives students a better understanding of the importance of space and depth for growth and provides a real-world context for how we use math in our daily lives.
