Amazing Matter!

No votes have been submitted yet.

Students are introduced to the idea that matter is made up of tiny particles called atoms and molecules. In this lesson, students will determine the difference between the three states of matter; solid, liquid, and gas. They will discover their molecular structure, how properties are just the physical descriptions of matter, the fact that molecules are substances made up of atoms bonded together, and how an atom is the smallest unit of a chemical element, the purest form a substance can take. Students will design and engineer a model, detailing different kinds and amounts of atoms found in their molecules, distinguish the atoms included in a molecule, and how they are bonded together to determine the type of molecule that is formed.
