This lesson integrates literature / ELA standards with Science& Engineering Practices and is designed for K-1. The lesson involves a read aloud of the story "The Little Wooden Robot and the Log Princess". After reading the story, the students will have a hands-on opportunity to code using blocks to program their very own wooden robot KIBO. Students will gain experience in block coding, creating a sequence to have their KIBO go on a journey similar to the one in the story. This lesson is a fun way to get your younger students interesting in coding and programming a sequence of command for robotics. KIBO is easy to use and requires no software. It is also a great way to bring a story to life!
