When buying a plane ticket, you may wonder, “Why is my airline ticket so expensive, and why do some seats cost more?” The answer lies in economics and various expenses such as jet fuel, ramp fees, employee wages, and passenger snacks. In our interactive workshop, participants will dive into the complexities of the airline industry, employing their math skills to calculate the best pricing strategies for seats, snacks, and baggage, considering the airline’s costs and service standards. This hands-on session promises to immerse students in practical math applications, enhancing their planning skills for future travel.
Participants will be eligible for 1 hour of professional development credit.
Due to the interactive nature of the presentation, all participants will be required to have reliable internet access and a device with video and audio capabilities.
