Parabolas Using Rockets Pt. 1
In this engaging lesson, students will connect the path of a straw rocket to the arc of a parabola. By changing the angle of the launcher, they will discover the relationship between distance and height in parabolic motion.

This is the 2nd lesson is a 2-part series. Students will expand their knowledge of Newton's laws while building, launching and changing the design of paper rockets. This design and modeling exercise
Rad Roller Coasters Part 2 comes at the end of our paper roller coaster project. Students will collect data on their coaster and use that to calculate velocity, potential energy and kinetic energy
Students will learn about forces and motion by building a straw rocket. They will measure how far their rocket flies and then build a second rocket to see if they can make it go farther.
