A Hatchet STEM Project: Wilderness Water Filtration
This lesson will develop an awareness of the critical importance of access to clean water for survival in the wilderness, drawing inspiration from the book "Hatchet." Students will recognize the vital role that clean water plays in survival, especially in a wilderness setting. They will also be able to describe basic STEM principles related to water filtration, including the use of various materials to purify water, and create a design for a water filtration system that includes appropriate materials and follows a specific plan.
